On 27 February 2025, the Kazan Expo IEC hosted an extended meeting of the Republic of Tatarstan’s Ministry of Industry and Trade Board. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov, the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Oleg Korobchenko, as well as delegations from more than 70 federal constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
During the event, the performance of the Republic of Tatarstan’s key industrial and consumer sectors in 2024 were summarized, as well as plans and development tasks for 2025 were outlined.
The structure of the economy of the Republic of Tatarstan at the end of 2024 was characterized by a significant growth of industry, which accounts for 47.1% of the total GRP. The industrial production index amounted to 105%. The volume of shipped products increased by 19.2% year-on-year and reached over RUB 5.65 trillion.
The comprehensive development of business activity in the region is also reflected in the growth dynamics of the energy sector indicators. Electricity consumption in 2024 grew by 5.1% to 35 billion kWh, with the industrial sector accounting for 70%. Electricity generation reached 31.3 billion kWh and showed more than 10% growth compared to the previous year.
The reliable operation of the Republic of Tatarstan's energy system has ensured the holding of such important events as the XVI BRICS Summit, the International Multisport Tournament "Games of the Future", the International Economic Forum "Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum" and other high-level events.
The Republic of Tatarstan participates in projects of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation on the use of alternative fuels. Demand for electric vehicles is actively growing in the region: by 2024, their number amounted to 1.7 thousand. The dynamics of the charging infrastructure development also shows steady growth – in 4 years their number has increased 4 times and currently stands at 250 units.

- ensuring energy reliability, reducing the accident rate by 10%;
- completion of projects for construction and modernization of generating capacities to the amount of RUB 65.7 billion;
- designing a wind farm with a capacity of 300 MW;
- completion of the consolidation of electric power facilities;
- cheapening of electricity to RUB 2.5 per kWh.
- launch of a 311 MW combined cycle gas turbine unit at Kazanorgsintez PJSC.
